Macromedia hosted UCON '99 May 25-27, 1999 in San Francisco's Moscone Center. As part of the conference, artists using Macromedia software were invited to participate in the People's Choice Awards. I entered my self-promotional brochure, "Let Ron Draw It," and won in the Infographics division. The entire project was produced in FreeHand, although some of the drawings were done in traditional pen and ink. I'll mail you a copy if you email me.

You might ask what this is all about - with the birds. Often when talking with a client for the first time, they ask, "Have you ever done a drawing of a Model B33n-18 Superbarker before?" My response is usually that just because I've never drawn one before doesn't mean I can't do the job. To me, drawing is drawing. If the client wants vanilla, I gives 'em vanilla. If they want a banana split, I whip one up, and yes, it costs more than plain vanilla. I chose a bird to show that there are many styles of drawing I can provide, from mechanical to realistic. Whatever style, color, or deadline is necessary, I can produce on time, and on or under budget.
